This P-51B Mustang, serial number 42-106447 and dubbed "Shoo Shoo Baby", was assigned to Lieutenant John C. Howell who flew combat missions with the 364th Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group. Though this aircraft started its career with a factory-bult "birdcage" canopy, it was at some later date retrofitted with a British Malcolm hood, its radio mast being replaced by a simple whip antenna. It is unknown what became of this aircraft, however Lt. Howell would later be assigned a P-51D, which would bear the same nose art.
