Based on new research gleamed from http://www.littlefriends.co.uk, in addition to other sources, this profile depicts "Speedball Alice", one of the many aircraft assigned to Major Donald H. Bochkay during his career with the 363rd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group. This P-51C, modified with the installation of a Malcolm hood, sported Bochkay's signature "Winged Ace of Clubs" in addition to five victory marks and the serial number 42-103041. Major Bochkay flew various incarnations of "B6-F" throughout his tour of duty, however this specific aircraft was lost on 8 March 1944; its pilot at that time, Lieutenant William W, Gambill, ended up as a POW, dying in prison before the war's end.
