The colors used on planes and the paintschemes really is great in the WW1 era. Still hope we one day will see a WW1 version of Il-2. I know there is being worked on one, but fear it never will be finished like many other WW1 sims.

The game is already old, but in constant development. It used to be called "Dawn of Aces" and was a brand of IENT ( Welcome to iEntertainment Network - An Intense Gaming Portal ) a producer of a massive multiplayer online simulation series.

The producers of the movie "Flyboys" asked IENT to come up with a game for the movie. Dawn of Aces was expanded with planes, skins and terrain to match the time period of the movie. As a result "Dawn of Aces"was rebrande "Flyboys squadron": Flyboys The Game

The halberstadt that Serval painted has no cockpit yet so it is only available as AI in the game. the next update will have a cockpit so you can fly it your self.

You can try flyboys the game for free for one month. If you don't want to buy the cd you can download the online ersion here (register first) Free Massively Multiplayer Flight Combat Simulator and Tank Combat Simulator . The only thing you miss when you don't buy the cd is the offline game. Try it, a online furball with 40~50 planes can be very intense
