Sorry Guys,couldnt resist this
Been building the 1/32 Scale Hasegawa Stuka kit, took this photo of the rear gunner\radio operater(Bordenfunker) and he just seems so happy!

And,while we are at it,1/24th Scale Vac form Albatros

Cockpit shots,sidewall details,bulkheads,cockpit dials,all sctratchbuilt.

Nearly completed kit, near a crappy 1/48th Scale SMER kit

NICE! I like that Albatros too. What kit is it? I built an accurate D.V using the SMER kit a wile ago. I had to carve my own fuselage blanks and vacuform new pieces. About a year later Eduard released their EXCELLENT 1/48th scale Albatros series :P
(You can see my Albatros here- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/BLOWHARD/D.jpg )

If i get my Albatros looking half as good as yours,i will be a happy man!
The Albatros is made by Sanger Models, based in the UK,but the kit is a copy(licensed)of the old "Contrail" kit, they do a SE5A and a Neuport as well!

Thumbs up Re: Happy Stuka gunner.....and the rest!

Well, whaddya know it's one of the Carts Brothers. Model looks good. Do you apply resin over the paintwork? I used to do that long ago to protect the decals and paint job.

Re: Happy Stuka gunner.....and the rest!

1:24th albatros? That looks very very nice so far

I'm just starting on a 1:48th Bristol F.2b. It is really te first WWI kit for me and colors and shapes seem a little odd to for a WWII modeller. I wanted to do a WWI aircraft, just to see if I am any good at rigging. The shape of the F.2b always appealed to me. But there is really too much wiring for a beginning WWI modeller really

I haven't got to that stage yet tough. I'm still fondling with the cockpit. Eduard gives you two choices of seats, one in plastic and one photoetched. However, none of them was up to my satisfaction. The plastic chair doesn't look like it is made out of straw. (sorry, I don't know the proper english word for it) and the photo etch seat is essentially FLAT and straw isn't flat, it is rounded. So, I've scratchbuilt my 'own' seat. In the end, it will look like this: Close-up on Airco DH-2 - Superdetailing the 1/48 Eduard Profipack Kit

The seat at least, the rest of the aircraft won't be having the same standard. Funny, the guy on the website tells that he has been working on the seat for three weeks. But I finnished it in two weekend afternoons really. And I used electrical wire wich is approximatly 0.2mm in cross section. This is far easier to hold in place then fishing line.

But any hints on rigging or other WWI modelling issues will be greatly appriciated!

That engine looks impressive! You really get the 'dirty' and oily look wich is about right for aircraft engines. They might need a bit of detailing in the way of oil and fuel lines or electrical wiring.
