Question Question about a Corsair (not sure what forum to ask in)

I know this is from a based on history show that is HIGHLY fiction. During episode 6 of the show "Baa Baa Black sheep" titled "Prisoners of War" I noticed that one of the Corsairs in the line is a dark green color. It might even be the Plane that Boyington chases down Rockey in but im not 100% sure on that one. Im wondering if there were any corsairs actually painted this color during the war? Or is this just a color that the collector that owns the plane had it painted. Ill try to find a picture of it from the show and post later on.

Re: Question about a Corsair (not sure what forum to ask in)

I've never seen or heard of a green Corsair, but that doesn't mean it might not be so. The F4U-4's used for BBBS were left in their original Glossy Sea Blue paint although this is incorrect for 1943 Solomons planes. If the planes' owners didn't want them re-painted authentically, I doubt they would have them painted in something like green. However, I don't know either way. A photo or screencap would be best.

Also, Glossy Sea Blue can appear to be many different shades from purple-ish to green-ish depending on how it's photographed.

Re: Question about a Corsair (not sure what forum to ask in)

Im going to order volume 1 and try to get a screen capture of it. Ive seen that episode a few times and Im almost positive it is a dark green. Ill post a screen capture when I can get one. It kind of boggles me a bit because Ive never seen or heard of one other than that plane in that episode. And its the only episode I can remember seeing it in.
