Re: Black Chopper

Give it an ammo box, can see the feed chute but not the ammo Box, reminds me of a profile i was working on the British Armys SA80 (L85A1-A2) might have a re-go at it now i have photoshop.

Re: Black Chopper

No word from the USG about buying them yet. I have sent an email to the unit requesting use of their patch, so we'll see what comes back.

The configuration is correct for no ammo box. If I do add one, I'll put a belt of 7.62 in as well. Not now, maybe later....

I need to work on something else now.

Re: Black Chopper

NO NO NO, 109Es had 2 7.92 MG13s and 2 20mm MGFF!!!

Interesting development, you've got a profile of the chopper, a profile of the MG, will you do a profile of the guy in the window?
My 2 cents, I'd swivel the MG so it's at an angle facing out, the door gunner and MG would add a lot of animation value

Re: Black Chopper

I quite agree, BH. Trouble is, pivoting the gun would mean starting it from scratch and I'm a bit over it at the moment. I'd like to add a figure as well, trouble is, I can't draw. All I can do is assemble pieces on screen! Maybe as my skill and confidence increases I might try something organic. "Not now, maybe later." I'd have to add a pilot then too. Too much work!

I never let that stop me before
But I know what you mean, it wouldn't be right having a figure in there if it's not up to the same level as the rest of the chopper.
I've never done anything "artistic" on the computer. You might have seen my "real" paintings, real as in all physically done with brushes and paint and all that. To do that on a computer, I'm not sure if I'd know where to begin really. The closet thing to a figure I've done was a silly Lara Croft picture for another forum. It was a quicky loosely based on a photo-

I think it would take quite a while to work up something good though. For me, computer art is the realm of the technical ...although this little exercise does make me wonder if there's something there worth pursuing

Re: Black Chopper

That actually looks very natural, BH. The pose, shading, foreshortening and everything all works very well. Maybe you should do some nose art?

Re: Black Chopper

Grey Chopper / Black Chopper / White Chopper ... and then there were three.

The third RAN A109E was finally unveiled yesterday so I have now completed my full set.

I can't say, or see, why they opted for a drop-shadow text on this third one. It means they don't match. I hate inconsistency!

The dark blue, grey and white colour schemes are meant to represent the three main RAN uniforms, Dress Whites, Blue and working Grey.
