Hurricane Remains

I visited the facilities of the Fighter Factory, a WWII aircraft restoration outfit located in Virginia Beach and Suffolk, Virginia last week. Took many (hundreds) of walkaround, detailed photos. Questions:

1. How might I post photos to share with SPS members?

2. In their restoration work hangar they had the remains of a Hurricane that had been flown by a Russian pilot who was shot down in combat and crashed in a peat bog in 1943. The wreckage was discovered in the bog in the 1990s, and it was found that the pilot's body had mummified and been preserved--to the point that the family was able to identify him. Attached is a photo of the canopy, which included several bullet holes. The remaining airframe is mostly tubing and spars. Notice at the lower right of the photo a couple of low-resolution photos of the crash site and the pilot's body. Does anyone have the background and/or a reference on this story?

Many thanks!

Re: Hurricane Remains

Serval,

Sorry to mislead you on the scope of photos I'd like to share. In fact, I only have one shot of the wrecked Hurricane. What I'd like to show are detailed pictures of other aircraft taken at this facility and at military air shows I've attended. I try to get views at several cuts along the left side of the fuselage which might help in doing typical left-side profile art.

I've posted a couple of examples in the Gallery for your inspection and guidance to me. Most of my pics are 300k-1.5meg sizes, which might be unacceptably large. Please give a look and let me know if this type of file, size, and subject is appropriate. If not, please excuse my ignorance and delete from the gallery.

Thanks!

Re: Hurricane Remains

Pictures can be 1600 pixels large. I suggest about 75% quality as a nice quality size compromise.
Where you placed the I-16 is a good place. When we get more of the same type we can allways move them to a dedicated folder.

Re: Hurricane Remains

Serval,

Thanks! I'm in the process of uploading some F-4E photos to help current posters.

I can't seem to upload more than one photo at a time from the Browse command. Help?
