A policecar filmed the incident. The aircraft almost rammed the policecar, but was able to jump over it.
The aircraft appears to have some damage, but the pilot and his son came out of it unharmed.
The policeman in the video does seem a bit unsure what to do with the weird winged object on HIS highway
I would shove it off to the side as soon as possible.
Couldn't the pilot land on a field nearby? I suspect that, like many WWII era aircraft, the T6 has the capability to land on grass or gravel surfaces? (off-road aircraft )

Kind of weird that those police cars there let traffic go by, or some of it. It would have been nice to see it first hand. Scary if something bad happened, but since nothing bad did happen, it's pretty fun
