Luckily, the landing was better then the camerawork
I always thought that pulsejet technology was like a poor man's jet engine. They where the type of engine's used on the oneway ride V1's in WWII. I am absolutly not 'into' jet engines but it seems logical to me to have the simplest and cheapest (jet)engine for this kind of weapon. IIRC, the pulsejet does not have any moving parts. Being really cheap, it probably means that there are some serious drawbacks to the design.

I'm no expert on rocket science however what i do know about pulse jet engines is that they consume large amounts of fuel making them very inefficient for use in larger aircraft. Also, pulse engine's perform combustion in pulses which generates a lot of vibrations which is not certainly suitable for larger aircraft as it can damage the structure of the surrounding airframe for models, the smaller pulse jets have a little effect.

Yes mister 3nemy (I expect you are a 'mister') Thank you for that. Some websites make statements that the pulsejet is the jet engine of the future. I always doubted that, but I did not know why. I guess I must've read wikipedia better I also know that they also have normal jet engines in model aircraft.
Well i used to be like a major fan of model aircraft, most of my knowledge of these engines comes from magazines ect. i agree, i can't see much potential in this type of propulsion, considering the current state the world is in concerning fuel and energy sources, which these engines seem to consume in stupidly large amounts.
OMG! Now there was a trip down memory lane... Noisy, smelly, fast and bl***y painful when you got hit by them. We were playing with them in the sixties - and they were old-tech then already.
Certainly not controllable, just "light blue touch paper" and block ears. I am surprised anyone is allowed to fly them at all these days with the noise they make.
