Why no weathered skins in FS?

It is realistic I'd say...

Re: Why no weathered skins in FS?

This aircraft probably did not fly for a considrable amount of time

I should say that most aircraft in FS are representations of commercial aircraft. The airliners want to keep their aircraft relative clean. Passengers will undoubtedly be more happy to step in an aircraft that looks clean, sounds reasonable I think.

Anyways, commercial aircraft are far from really clean, if you come close enough. Especially near regulary used inspection panels, outlets and of course the landing gear.

Re: Why no weathered skins in FS?

You also will frequently see run off marks over where the jetway touches the fuselage. This effect is seen on my Dreamfleet 727 on a few skins.

But yea that 747 up there looks like it probably was parked after an incident or a needed repair that wasn't worth doing... several years ago!
