It's to counter the propellor toque, so the roll rates to both sides are the same.

the c202-c205 should be the same (if it's modelled correctly)

at least in Target Tobruk they're different: the modeler explained me why but I've forgotten what's the reason (engine torque or roll rate, something like this...)

I think most all Macchi fighters were like this. It was the standard design practice, to counter torque as serval said
