ML-KNIL Martin Bomber Finished

Finally

Here they are folks, the DB-3M as ML-KNIL Martin Bombers. The skins come in three flavors:

Prewar scheme:

Mid 41:

Early 42:

Many thanks to 1.JaVa_Serval and 1.JaVa_Platypus for the ML-KNIL aircraft profiles, photos and color charts.

Thanks for hosting the skins too, Serval

You can find them at www.1java.org

Re: ML-KNIL Martin Bomber Finished

I have one comment about both wartime skins: did the Glenn Martins have markings on the upper wings?????? The ML-KNIL fighters (Buffalos, Interceptors and Hawks) did not have them so I would assume that the bombers did not have them either.

Re: ML-KNIL Martin Bomber Finished

I think they had with the roundels, but for the Triangles you are correct. In the contrary to the Netherlands in NEI it was not usual to have them on the upper surface of the wings.

Maybe we should take a closer look at the wing in the Militaire Luchtvaart Museum...

Re: ML-KNIL Martin Bomber Finished

Hmm... well my mistake then ... But I will look for more pictures first before I repair the skins.

Re: ML-KNIL Martin Bomber Finished

But on the models the Martin has triangles, where the Douglas doesn't

Re: ML-KNIL Martin Bomber Finished

No they are not my models. I went to a modelkit exhibition lately. These are 1:72. My models are all 1:48. If a 1:48 Martin bomber would be on the market, I'll buy it.
