He-162 Volksjager

Finally completed my first He-162 skin. Actually created my own template for the work, a first for me. What you guys think?

BTW The He-162 in the background is Canon's...used as a basis to judge my work.

Re: He-162 Volksjager

Excellent as usual Graf!
Of course I'm a stickler for the authentic taped and puttied panel lines on these things but I think I'm the only one :P

Re: He-162 Volksjager

You mean I should or Graf should tell you more?
I meant the majority of fuselage panel lines and rivets on the He 162 (and Me 262) were covered by fabric tapes and puttied over to smooth the outer finish. Partially so it would be more streamlined but mostly to cover poor fit that they got from unexperienced labor, and worse workmanship from slave labor.
I've brought this point up before at Simmer's, the general consensus is it that they look boring without the panel and rivet detail and it's better to show it than leave it off. It's probably true I guess unless you want to be 100% accurate, the panel lines are better to show.
Plus, Graf did his usual subtle but equally detailed approach which doesn't look too out of place even for taped and puttied panel lines
I just like bringing it up

Re: He-162 Volksjager

As usual BH is correct.

The panel/rivet lines are actually very difficult to see and on my skins I have increased their visibility for artistic purposes.

Here is a tad bit more work for ya.

Re: He-162 Volksjager

Those are REALLY nice, I think about as nice as can be done in a sim for this plane!
But Graf, you really MUST do one that partially or all unpainted!
