here's how my P-38 looks.


notice how the highest part of the wing is bright, and then fades to blue and then grey.

For a good reference, Snooty made some really nice P-51s if I remember correctly. He really pulled it off perfect IMO.

I tend to let the in game lighting do the hard work for me, I'll do a few highlighted areas but not very many. For bare metal skins I start off with my bare metal template and then highlight a few areas and that's about it but then I am quite lazy
