good dithering plugin

Hey guys. Nice work!
I am new to skinning. Im using GIMPshop 2.2.8. Is there better dithering plugins for indexing the skins. I have used the built-in Steinberg and VCdither (gimp plugin). OK results. Tried the Depthdither (photoshop plugin) but it wont run in GIMPshop. I did copy the DLL and plugin files from this site to run photoshop stuff.
Can u help me out and plug me in?

Re: good dithering plugin

Hi there,

I've no experience with Depthdither myself, I think most I know who skin for IL2 use BRIGHT to do palette conversions. I am not sure there is a working BRIGHT system for GIMP.

What you might try is the manual BRIGHT conversion, just export your skin as a 24bit BMP and then BRIGHT will do the conversion outside of GIMP.

Re: good dithering plugin

Ah glad to help. Although I prefer Photoshop Elements, I have a bit of experience with GIMP and it can perform very nicely.
