Hello again!
IM seeing some issues with using bright and this small tutorial with pictures hopefully will elevate the problems you are having. I will Use a F^F Template which I downloaded from the Simmers website , so Kudos’ to you guys for hosting the layered templates.

Start with your skin in Paint Shop Pro. As shown, this is PSP 10 but the principals remain the same for all of the Paint Shop programs.

Size: 84.1 KB
The first step is to save your work as a Windows O/S ( operating system ) Bmp Image by going up to the upper left of your PSP desk top as shown and click On the file tab and then scroll down to save as and click it.

Size: 67.6 KB
When you click the save as option A save as menu box will appear as shown. Make sure the File name is correct, and that save as type is a Bmp Image file just As it looks in the Picture above. Once it looks like this click the save button and it will save to where ever you tell It to be saved to, for simplicity I save all my work to my desktop for ease of work.

Platypus

This is the only Bright I use, and I use it for one reason, it's simple... no muss no fuss little program.
And if your referring to a Photoshop plugin ? then Im certain it does essentially the same job as this one.
There is a newer version of Bright out there, I may even have it some where around here, and I still use this one because the newer 0ne had too many buttons, too much to remember.
This one in my opinion is the best simply because you drag/drop and click done.
And that is personnal taste , I like this one you like the plugin version, but is one better than the other?
I think they are the same program just differant applications of it's useage.

Re: Using Bright

The plug-in is as good and using the program with the batch-file.
The program can do a lot of things more, but then you need to know the parameters and run the program manually.

BTW: The plug-in does not work properly with PSP, only with Photoshop

Re: Using Bright

Thanks Serv, Thats Interesting that it won't work with PSP, PSP 10 is suppose to be more compatable with Photo Shop plugins, has anyone tested this theory out ?
If not, perhaps somneone could send me the photo Shop Bright plug in and I can test it with PSP 10.
I just ordered PSP 11 It should be here in a couple of days so I will play with that as well.
I will do some mad scientist testing and get back to ya

Bright and PSP

Ok I have downloaded the Bright plugin off this site, I have installed it into all my versions of PSP from 7-10.
Not only can I Not locat it at all in the effects drop down, I could no locate it in Photoshop 7 0r 9 .
Is there a special place where it will be found in PS?
Cause if it is not in teh plugin's it should be.

Re: Using Bright

Snake, my Photoshop Elements uses the filter in the /plugins/import-export/ directory. You might test there if such a folder exists in PSP.

Re: Using Bright

It is in the File - Export - Plug-in menu. (PSP X)
But save your effort. the plug-in does not work properly with PSP. You get distorted images.

Re: Using Bright

Ok I found it in the export panel, and what kind of distortion are you talking about ?
Cause it appears to work perfectly on my system.
I get nothing unusual at all , I even did a test with the batch file bright and it looks exactly the same as the one done with PSP 10 and PSP 8 .
Hm?

Interesting development I wonder if perhaps there is a missing file in your program as compared to mine ?
Let me know what you think, cause as of now it is working on my machine .

Re: Using Bright

I got it black and white and shifted. and the Bright plug-in is only one file, so that cannot be the problem.
