This article points out the main areas that member who wish to submit articles should know about before submitting.
The updated article system on Simmers Paint Shop makes it much easier for members to format and submit articles than the older system. Lets move down the submission page and cover what each area does.
Header Image:
In this section you can upload an image to server as the icon for your tutorial. Size for the icon should be no more than 80x80 pixels.
Options:
Fill in your title, and optionally a short description in the 'synopsis' box.
Post New Tutorial:
This is the main posting area. Put the main text of your tutorial in the text box. You can use the tools on this page, and should see the results previewed in the post box.
One tool in the main post box is important to take note of. In the top most row of tools, next to the smiley selector, is a paperclip icon. This controls (pictured below) the attachments and places them into the text box. Before this can be used however, move down to the next section...
Additional Options:
In this section, the most important tool is the 'Attach Files' button. Clicking this opens a standard forum file attachment window for uploading images for your tutorial.
Adding attached images into your main text box:
Here's the process for adding an attached image where you want it in your main text. First upload the images using the 'Attach Files' button.
Now find the place in your tutorial text, and click the cursor at that point. Now click the paperclip icon, and a small menu will appear.
Click the name of the image you want placed at the point you clicked in the text, and some code will appear that will place it there after the tutorial is posted.
This code is normal, and will turn into a thumbnail of your image after you have submitted the tutorial.
Of course, if you have any questions on any part of this, feel free to ask.
