Well, I seem to have a problem here. I want to make this nice skin of a Dutch B-24 with a nice nose-art on it. However, this seems to be the only existing photograph that shows the nose-art clearly.
It is the B-24J-40-CF 44-10357 or KG852 and it flew with the RAF 321 squadron in the pacific area. It served for a few months after the war but got scraped in 1946.
It is a nice nose-art but the picture is too vague to trace it in photoshop. It depicts a grinning cat, sitting on a bomb and telephoning. The description of the pic says that the text "you will hear from us" is on the bomb. As I am not able to reproduce this nose-art myself, I decided to throw this issue on the international forums.
When I finnish the skin, I will upload it to
1e JaVA with all the proper credits given of course! Your name in the Discription, something like "This skin was made possible thanks to XXXX" I cannot release the skin of this aircraft without the nose-art so I hope that someone is able to reproduce it. It has to have a really 40's look. But since there is not one really good picture of it, some artistic freedom on details is okay, as long as it looks like something out of that age. Probably no-one will see wether it is historically correct or not.
