Question MS 406 construction?

Hey all, I'm working on a French MS 406 scheme, and I have come across some info that has put some progress on hold. The void kind of shows hints of rivets going out on the wings in parts. I have recently read that the real a/c was built with a combination of wood and aluminum. I havent been able to find any detailed photos or explanations of how the riveting was done, if there was any at all.

Does anyone have some good photos or know off hand how much riveting was done on this a/c? I have come up empty handed. Thanks in advance for any info.

Re: MS 406 construction?

Hi.

The cover of MS 406 except for the rear fuselage cover in canvas all other cover was made of "Plymax" light alloy stuck on plywood.

Riveting was made by flat sunked tronconical head rivets

You can find pics of the MS 410 (D3800 Swiss) at these following album links shoot at la Fert? Alais airshow

Re: MS 406 construction?

Well I have learned my lesson. I found some more excellent walk around photos of a Swiss version of the MS406. The void is terribly off in terms of rivets and panel lines. I should have looked before I started, shame on me lol. Back to the ol' drawing board.

Re: MS 406 construction?

Hi Turnip..

Many void and template seem to need update..

Skinners on our forums use reworked template and rebuilt pannel lines. Tchaika rework template at each skin . See his Gladiators and actully he work on the Hurricane..

I'm sure you will do a very good job.. and finally we will be amazed by the results.

When i make news for skin now i have not enough supelative words in stock to describe the skin All artist like you push the limit each time..

I don't know if you have hosting place, if needed you can have an ftp and place on our website to host your skin.. If you have already an agreement with site hosting i don't want to drag your work for our site.. But if you wish to have multiple nest it's possible.. and free!!!

Re: MS 406 construction?

Well thankyou very much for the hosting offer Spit. I would be glad to upload a skin to your site. I'm not sure what an ftp is tho?

It will be some time before this one gets done, but I will post some progress pics as soon as I get some done. I do remember seeing some of Tchaika's skins, they were excellent. Thanks again.
