AC500 for FS2004

I just completed my 3rd repaint, and I'm having some trouble...It came out ok but not really clean like I wanted..I'm having a really hard time making curved lines that come out crisp & clean..If anyone knows a tutorial on this subject or could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it...anyway, enjoy the shots...any comments or suggestions would be appreciated..

curved lines are a hassle sometimes, also make sure for super high quality textures in DXTBMP/Imagetool you save without mip maps. also what paint program you using?

I recall this plane in FS2004, pretty fun.

Your repaint looks quite good in these screenshots. If you are having trouble with the stripes appearing blurry from time to time (but they still appear sharp when viewed close), then try removing the mip maps. Here is a tutorial on this subject:

Re: AC500 for FS2004

I'm using Paint shop Pro XI, I save everything in Dxt3, no mipmaps..blurryness isn't the problem, and the lines look ok in these shots but when you get much closer to the aircraft they're kinda jagged..anti-aliasing was set when the lines were created so I don't know how to make them any smoother...right now I'm doing all my lines freehand cause I don't know how to use the Bezier tool right, but I'm trying to learn it now..just not alot of help out there on this subject but from what I've seen it looks to be about the best way to make curves with smooth edges...

thanks for the comments btw, much appreciated...

Ah OK. That issue is probably to do with the settings of the brush you are working with. Be certain that it's not the pencil tool, which with my experience in Photoshop and GIMP, never anti-aliases. Instead, use a paint or airbrush tool.

Re: AC500 for FS2004

well actually I'm not using either, I use the freehand "point to point" selection tool, with smoothing set between 5-10, if you go much higher than that it tends to really round things off...I didn't like the pen tool, the edges aren't crisp enough for me and I'm not nearly "steady" enough to use a brush or airbrush...
