Re: My little "Pet Project"

Thanks Elephant..you are right about Blowhard,I've been following his stuff for quite some time myself.

The pilot is fully animated and he looks in the direction you are turning and his goggles can be lowered as well. The Oberursel is fully animated too, it just doesnt show in screenies.

The Cross meeting like that is evident in 2 photos from the Windsock Datafile for 2 separate AC,but, it is by no means the standard. I did that particular one first to make sure my mapping lined up and I havent gotten around to making the second version...lol...I'm a real slug when it comes too that sometimes.

The Altimeter is also keyed to a visibility control because,as far as I'm aware, the EV didnt come standard with one, but could have one installed. I could be wrong here too though.

Re: My little "Pet Project"

Looking really good Blutwurst
Yes, I did mean more saturated, but really it's hard to tell as they're dyes on plywood. I think what you have looks pretty good. I'd be worried about going too bright, it could get scary!
One more thing, although I don't know the color, the landing gear axel wing was plywood, and there are a few posts about it at the Aerodrome. Unfortunately I can't remember what color it was supposed to be. I think olive like the metal parts. I'm pretty sure it's not printed fabric...but as I say, I can't remember exactly
Nice work and a QUICK turnaround too!

Good catch Elephant, I missed that one
But "semigod status"? Is that good or bad?
If Jester and the rest of the semigod peanut gallery sees your comment I'll never hear the end of it!

Re: My little "Pet Project"

Thanks a million for the help again Blowhard Turnaround is pretty easy with this bird because I mapped it for ease of painting. I've also added all the mechanical representaions,(plywood, canvas, etc) to the template before adding the colors.

Here's a couple of unedited update shots with the castor oil staining added and the gear wing repainted. I think these color adjustments are more representative now.

I tried a simulated Orthographic test on a screenie and it looked pretty close to the original WWI photos, so I think I'll stick with these colors unless something else arises to totally shoot my interpretation to hell..lmao

Cheers
Randy

Re: My little "Pet Project"

This latest version... This is right up there with some of the best looking FS addon aircraft exteriors in my opinion.

Re: My little "Pet Project"

I'm back at the color schemes after taking some serious time getting my sounds recorded and mixed down. Blowhard,do these saturations look natural enough too you m8.

Re: My little "Pet Project"

Thanks Jester. I think I'm still going to try and add the Leather "head bumper" on the cutout in the wing. I'm not sure how it will look though. I'll post up a shot when I get her added to get your opinion.
