WIP : CF-18 2003 Tiger Meet

First off, I will show you my objective.

Ok...I'm working with the Acceleration Hornet, and have made good progress so far. I'm not really accustomed just yet to skin on multiple texture files, I skin mostly Il2, so this is a pretty big project for me. Here are the pics of what I've done so far:

I'm going to work on the black with white lining on the wings and empennage next, then I'll get to the stripes. I'm not looking forward too much to that step. But I'm in pretty far on this one so I'm not going to stop.

Wow, great start!

Only thing I noticed... There is a difference between the black color on the fuselage, and the black color on the tail graphic. Personally, I prefer the color of the tail graphic, as it's not quite pure black, which leaves more room for detail visuals to be added.

Re: WIP : CF-18 2003 Tiger Meet

Looks good so far.
Lovely choice also. I agree with adlabds on not using pure 0,0,0 black.
A bit off brings a bit more life to the skin. And also so far I never saw a swatch translated to RGB values which gave pure 0 black.
If you browse the swatches here there are blacks in all the lists, but all have a bit different value. Just try which one goes best with this scheme.

Thanks for the comments. Its not going to be pure black when it is finished. I only used pure black to start the basic layout. The tail design was taken directly from a high res photo.

I finished the basic scheme:

Although I think I will have to adjust the curve on the black/white shape on the stabs.

Re: WIP : CF-18 2003 Tiger Meet

Though the tailplane looks a but more saturated on the screenshots before overall, I'd say that the tiger stripes on the inside are a bit too red. I'd tone them down a bit and make them a bit more yellow

Looking good so far. Is that the Daisuke Yamamoto (FS KBT) model?
