I have eliments I read a post in here about paths

do i need the big boy photo shop for paths? to make rivets

I think you have it, but the tools that create paths have different names.

For example the Pen tool to draw lines and the Rectangle tool to create a rectangle (and other shapes in the menu below it).

I've got Elements version 2.0, and I don't think that paths are avaliable in my version. There are some vector shape tools, but unfortunately none that will work like the path tool tutorials show.

OH NO! I can't imagine life without paths
It's sad the Photoshop costs so much. I got mine as a bundle with a scanner many years ago, $100 over the scanner price. A good deal considering it was over $500 then. I don't even know if you can get a full version of PS this way anymore.

One can try something like E-bay to get a second hand PS 6, 7 or CS for a nice price.
