USAAF nose art from b/w photoes? How?

Apart from 51th MTAP guys, I'm eager to make some USAAF A-20G's too, but I have no idea how to make a nice nose art, using just slightly visible black & white photoes:
Nose Art of the Southwest Pacific Area - MacArthur Memorial - The City of Norfolk, VA.

Any suggestions?

Educated guesses, look at other nose art where there is a confirmed colour representation and try to work it out from there, plus there are several sites which have nose art from various groups and display colour artwork, I would however not trust everything 100% though as there are plenty of occasions where I've found conflicting art
