Lights

I'm just curious how people tackle lights and navigation lights as especially with the coloured glass/perspex there is going to be some variation in depth of colour, backgrounds, highlights etc

Re: Lights

I just look at photos and use some artistic license and try to come up with something that looks reasonable

Re: Lights

I agree with BH, although my results aren't as good as his. I love the sense of depth on that wingtip light.

How to depict canopies is pretty much the same issue.

Re: Lights

I'm never too sure what to do about the horizon reflection, obviously if the a/c was on the ground resting on the undercarriage then there would be a clear line delineating the dark ground and lighter sky, however with the wheels retracted then the illustration would imply that the a/c is in the air where the ground reflection would be diminished to the point of not showing up.

I suppose that some artistic license is required.

Thanks for the detail though blowhard
