just my small voice comment
do not relly too much on saved machines...they may no represent the correct version but be a mix of few machines just to make it look original

That is a really good point, Pkassak. Being a volunteer at a museum I can testify that you will bolt together whatever you can get your hands on. It would be nice to keep everything original, but it is just not practical. Better to have one complete Vampire than three piles of parts.

Peter is dead right on that point. I've seen so many walkarounds of restored aircraft that show it to be completely different from the original!

I like accuracy and I like the research that goes into it, up to a certain extent. But perfection here is rarely achievable, especially for shapes and colours. When I have to guess, I go for what looks best and is artistically most pleasing.
