You could be busy for years, all you need is more commissions!

Re: Volkswagen Type 2 T1

Yea, theres stupid amounts of variations in these vans, both from the factory and customised to peoples tastes!

Basically, from 1949-1955 was the barndoor style, which had no peak and a massive engine lid, among other things (I haven't even got round to making one of these yet, its next on my list, once I get some time when I'm not doing commissions)
The barndoor vans came in 5 or so models...
Panel van, 11 window kombi, 11 window standard, 15 window deluxe, 23 window samba, and single cab truck
55 model year (I think it was a 1 year only thing) introduced the peak, and smaller engine lid, among other things, but continued to use semaphore indicators, which also came in the same models as the barndoor
56-62 introduced bullet indicators, among other things, which also introduced the double cab to the lineup
62-63 model years had big round indicators, yet same small rear hatch as earlier models, and were in the same models
64-67 had big round indicators, big rear hatch, and came in panel van, 11 window kombi, 11 window standard, 13 window deluxe, 21 window samba, single cab pickup, double cab pickup

So, thats 34 model types visually different, straight away, from the factory, between 1949 and 1967, before I factor in special built models, camper conversions and coachbuilt coversions..

Re: Volkswagen Type 2 T1

I like the décapotable. Even without the big-titted bimbo.
