Scale rulers

I got tired of drawing these for each individual drawing, so I made a universal set. Created in Illustrator and converted to Photoshop. All you need to do is resize them according to your drawing. Useful for ANY kind of project you have that requires pecision. In both metric and Imperial and very handy to have. Fully adjustable to your needs as all layers are included. My gift to the guys at Simmers. John, this does not give you free license to measure each and every drawing here and further harangue others with your nit pickyness. Vac, if you want to include this in the downloads section you are more than welcome to do so.

Re: Scale rulers

DO NOT download the previous included PSD. The numerals are in the wrong position. I will fix this shortly and re-post with the correct positioning.

i'll answer for him.... in a word "Yes" everyone sharpen up, the beardless beardie will be back with a micrometer, that means he'll insist on you flush fitting the panels, and be gauging the screws/rivets etc.... knowing him he'll also scrutinise the thread diameter on said screws.. i'll go hide in a cupboard till he loses the thing.... call me when that happens

Re: Scale rulers

OK....here's the corrected file. Did I ever mention that metric sucks? It is a vile and evil system designed to torment others.

Re: Scale rulers

But Otter, You're Canadian, therefore half French, so what's your problem with metric?

Re: Scale rulers

I am not "half French". Only a small (but very vocal ) minority of Canadians speak French. The rest of us (like 85% or so) speak English, thankyou very much! The French issue is costing Canada billions of dollars every year, so we'll be glad to get rid of that yoke.

I must say. Let's compare:

OPTION 1:
10 x 1 mm = 1 cm
10 x 1 cm = 1 dm
10 x 1 dm = 1 m
1000 x 1 m = 1 km (and so on)
1000 x 1 g = 1 kg
1000 x 1 kg = 1 tonne (and so on)

OPTION 2:
12 x 1 inch = 1 foot
3 x 1 foot = 1 yard
220 x 1 yard = 1 furlong
8 x 1 furlong = 1 mile (please note that you have different type of miles: imperial, nautical, etc. They also changed the length of one of them in 1970. For clarity's sake.).
3 x 1 mile = 1 league

and so on... I'm not even going to go through UK gallon vs. US gallon (dry or liquid gallon? they're different too!), or the ton (metric ton, imperial ton, jolly amusing ton and blue whip ton).

And you say the metric system is designed to torment others? We have one rule: the ratio between units is 10.

I bet no one here can give all of the ratios for non-metric systems by heart.

That's your punishment for using an archaic system which made some sense five or six centuries ago and is hopelessly complex for no advantage now. Long live themetric system and the horrible Qu?bec accent!

Re: Scale rulers

now listen here johnny foreigner,

they spent thousands of pounds, thats euros to you, teaching me how to use imperial measurements, then years later they tell us we have to use the metric system, just to keep johhny foreigner happy

must admit, the metric system is far easier to use and understand
