Ah-hah. Thanks, Supah. I think this bird is a dual. I can see what you mean, it is quite a different shape.

Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

GM,

Gorgeous, man!! Nice rivet work, but I can't open the attachment.

Really like your attention to detail in capturing the unconventional lines of the laminar flow wing airfoil of the P-51!!! Max thickness is back at about 60 perecent of the wing chord, with a cusp shape on the rear of the airfoil. Nice job.

Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

More progress on the -51. Now I've done a bad job with the prop. Try and be understanding guys: I've never drawn props before. I don't believe in props, as far as that is concerned.

I'm relatively happy with the exhaust stacks, though. I've also made a version with the exhaust shroud.

BTW, I have two questions:

1 - IIRC, ETO Mustangs did not have a wire antenna going from the cockpit to the tail. Only MTO and PTO ones did. Can anybody confirm/infirm?

2 - I have the text for the stencil "data block", but I don't know what the project number (1st line of text) should be depending on the specific model (ie. D-10-NA, or B-15-NA, K-10-NT, etc.) Does anyone have reference to that?

Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

Looking good Gamary, if you feel like it I'd love that cuban mustang done up! Jester was going to do it for me but he got side tracked by something or another :P

Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

Thanks, guys.

@Supah: do you want FAR-401 as it is right now in La Havana? I still owe you a Luftwaffe Magister BTW. I haven't forgotten, but I'm still looking for detailed pictures that will give me the German stenciling. There were some nice looking Luftwaffe Fougas, including from FFA Acro-Team.

Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

For my second ever profile I drew this bird

I dont know how accurate it was, I probably did some research on it but decided close enough after a bit

Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

UGH...ditch that background color, it takes away from your beautiful profile

Sorry, I'm a die-hard white background fan! I feel even a solid color has to much influence in the way you see the main object.

Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

Dude ... second ever profile..... ? It's crap in the end, If i would do it today I would start over and not reuse any part of it There is too many people doing world war 2 planes in this world allready to make any money of it or make something new that people havent seen before so I won't bother.
