I guess #1 and #3 are pretty valid.

@SmashingTime: Thanks! I knew some of these pictures but not all and mostly not as sharp. DId you find them online or are they from your personal collection?

Re: P-40 Warhawk

Gamary, most of these are in publications I have, some are from online.
R.T Smith took most of the color photos at the time.
Glad I can be of use around here.

Re: P-40 Warhawk

Just a quick question: does anyone have pictures of the P-40 in the 56th FG? Especially the P-40F? These were used stateside before they converted to the P-47.

Re: P-40 Warhawk

Hi Gaëtan,

I made AVG skins (IL2 series) years ago and I based the colour charts on the photographs above, with minor improvements. According to me, the basic colours, without operationnal changes, should be like this :

Also I did new markings :

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Macwan.

Re: P-40 Warhawk

Hi Macwan,

Thanks for the colours. I haven't done any more AVG a/c but I'll try them ASAP.

I'm working on the P-40F right now:

I'm 99% finished. A few tiny missing details here and there and it's good to go. I'm thinking about adding a little shape definition to the nose intake, which currently looks too flat, I think. (I mean the central transition between engine cowling and radiator cowling just behind the spinner) Any opinions?

When I began converting the P-40B to the F I had no idea there would be so many differences...
