I think #1 too although I'd like to see a mix of #1 and #2. 70% #1 and 30% #2.
But of the two, #1 is better.

I like the No1 under surfaces it is lighter, as it should be I guess.
But the No3 is quite OK

I saw some color film of AVG P-4Os and they were definetly in the standard RAF early war fighter colors(dark earth dark green etc).Sorry if this reopens the debate.
