Re: Ilyushin Il-4

Quite busy with my main job now, but the progress slowly goes on:

But I'm really stuck with the cockpit elements/details... Whoever has some images of the glass nose inside internals -- I'd be more than grateful! And the UTK/MB-3 turret/ammunition feed mechanism please...

To JMSmith: John, I'm pretty sure you have some info/walkaround photoes?

Re: Ilyushin Il-4

Hello Mangas!

Nice WIP!

three notes: The tail wheel and undercarriage has another light source as the main wheel and engine.
The light effect at the wingsection were the wing meets the fuselage is a little bit overdone. Why should there be such a heavy light effect?
The vertical rudder looks like as it would be (from flight direction) right, as the light on the tail is not on the rudder. (Hope you understand what I mean)

Cheers, Simon

PS: It's interesting how fast you improve your work! Congratulations!

Re: Ilyushin Il-4

right,

what a suprise, all the books i have and all the images are no good for the nose section, the restored on in russia is just a bare shell, so no help.

heres the book covers, and a drawing and a photo of the turret
nearly all the books have the same photos in.

Re: Ilyushin Il-4

Thanks, John.
You're a man of his word.
Actually, I have all of these too, but it's never hurt to ask...
The last turret drawings are nice... but hard to figure out how it would look in color...
I'm sorry to say, perhaps I'll have to leave the nose section empty, as it is now...

To Simon: yes, I see your points... Let's say, this is not the final version yet... What about the rudder -- perhaps it's not 100% physically right, but dumb plain rudder sucks, so, let's say, I'm experimenting, trying to "turn" it a little...
