Hello! I'm reading this interesting thread and would like to say that Thierry's Il-2 is looking fantastic.

Darko - I'm not sure at all with that if final Il's had wooden body. In
book of Yefim Gordon and Oleg Rastenin - Il-2/Il-10, first published 2010, there's info that fuselage could have metal skin. Thery's no cleary wrote that metal skin was only eguipped with one seaters Ils (page 256). There's also drawing such ver. - (p. 294). There's also photo of such Il-2 (two seater) at page 248.

Hi Maciej, and one again, thanks for your help.
Anyway, I take off metal paint chips in the suppose wooden parts. But I think that you are right for metal panels at this period of the war.
All the best

The same info we can find at 4+ publication "Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik" (2006).
At internet we can find intersting photos of rare "metal body" 2 seater Il's:
Bulgarians, Yugoslovians:

Modeling the VVS: Serb Museum Il-2 Walkaround - there's info that body could have replaced - but we are not sure for 100%. We can find at Rastenin and Gordon photos of Yugoslowian aircrafts with metal fus..
