We have been asked by our friend to help him with some profiles for his book, dealing with 15hUSAAF losses over Moravia and Silesia.
So we need to do some "Dicke Autos". Here is flying coffin WIP:
The black and also not visible white shadow is not copying exactly the fuselage shapes, because it will be a template for different version, and it will be cut off depending on bomb aimer window, front turret etc.
not pink flloyd - all their themes contain round objects (dark side of the moon et al). Did Metallica use lancasters to move their gear between gigs? However, I still think those 'things' were designed by Barnes Wallace. . .
Dunno about Metallica, but what I know is that Iron Maiden used B757 for their gear. And if we take into account that B-24 was flying coffin, and Iron Maiden IS a metal band with demon as main feature it could be they are the color dots...(they cannot agree on which of them would be black so neither of them )
but back to topic...planniing to put this Vargas gals on the nose B-24 Duration +....
do you think one may borrow this drawing or should I redraw the babe?

Depends on the actual aircraft. Some artists made near perfect reproductions of magazine or calendar art, but most often it was different in many ways.
Before you get too far, make sure you're drawing the correct version of B-24 for each plane. The B-24 had many, many, variations in details like the nose and tail turrets, antennas and especially the navigator and bombardier windows on the nose to name a few. The variations could even be seen within models. Not all B-24Js had the same windows, for example. Ford did theirs a little different from Consolidated (not every Consolidated plant was the same, either!), who did them different than Douglas, etc.
I know that each B-24 subbersion was different, There was a great recognition guide based on factory and serial number, but it is not valid anymore...(maybe you can help with actual link? the old one was: Navylib.com- Recco Doc )
It is a nightmare. I hope Zamex will prepare all modifications and variations of the line art and I will take care of properly chosen noses and windows etc
About the Vargas art, I will try to modify it based on the photos...It was slightly different, but mostly exact copy of the original. must be a talented mechanic at the Group
I remember finding that page about a month before it died. I saved a copy of that page, but all the stuff that it linked to seems to be gone. It's really sad as it was a wonderful resource for B-24 variants.
HOWEVER, you may be able to find what you need here: Internet Archive Wayback Machine. Some of the links aren't valid, but you can find the right stuff with a little digging. (Hint: enter the full URL of the page you want in the "Enter Web Address" box at the top)
