GFR, I hate to pick hairs on the knees of gnats on this beauty, but how about the edges of the upper part of the shadow under the horizontal tail? Would look better without those notches at leading edge and trailing edge. Also, was the wing roundel really that far aft?

Man, you're making us work to find teeny-weenie glitches!

Pick away my man, you are right about the shadow its another artifact (actually a sign of my laziness) from the previous version, I will make an alteration soon. As for the roundel I agree that it looks odd but, that were my references have them, so that what I went with as well.
Keep looking guys im certain there are more signs of my short cut taking to be found.

Superb weathering! I'll have to study that and try to do the same! ;-)

Superb metal finish and weathering. I have just one point, the area directly behind the spinner looks a bit flat. Other then that, Flawless Execution

Re: Fire up the band, I have actually finished a profile (almost)

I've had this finished for a while now and was looking for a reason to open this (large) file, and post it here. After seeing Grubby lovely version of VH-JUC I thought it would be interesting to post it now, and see a contrast in styles. These 3 sqd Mustangs saw lots of action in and around Italy and nearly all photographic evidence shows them in a similarly battered and grungy state, which is a good thing, as most of you guys know, I cant resist the grunge.

Its obviously a version of the others posted in this thread, so no real reason to post hi-rez detail shots, unless somebody is real keen to seem em.

great work GFR!!!

I think it's impossible compare your Mustang with the same subject made from Grubby, your styles are very different...

both caught something different in this subject and give a very strong soul to your profiles.

cheers
Santino
