I'm not really "banging myself over the head" about it, just trying to do the very best that I can. I'm like the jackass with the carrot dangling in front of him, I keep moving forward, striving for the unobtainable.

Great work GFR ! However, i notced a single thing: The shade from the wing on the drop tank streaches from the upper egde to the lower edge of the tank. In my eyes it shoulde fade toward the bottom.
The shade cast by the wing and the horizontal stabilizer should also fade as the fuselage starts to bend inward.

Apart from that, this is really a great piece of work !

Moving right along...Here is a re-working of my B/C model.

A ways to go yet.

without a doubt, GFR, you OWN the P-51. One thing though, the shading at the shading at where the trailing edge of the wing meets the fuselage seems a little rough.

Re: Fire up the band, I have actually finished a profile (almost)

I decided to spend what was a lovely warm Sunday afternoon on something productive for a change, and managed to get most of the wing done, which is quite an achievement for me.

Do you think I should do the undercarriage as well? I'm never sure if I like profiles with them drawn or not, even when I have done it previously.

Does anybody happen to have a good profile shot of a N-9 gun sight?

BTW...Has there ever been a less accurate thread description than this one? Finished a profile...That'll be the day!

GFR, you just get better and better
Tweaks for your consideration:
What happened to the rest of the shadow from the trailing edge of the horizontal tail?
More accurate shape of the airfoil at the wing tip (max thickness at 65% chord).

I had great difficulties finding decent gunsight shots as well. Here is my main source, and what I did:

Size: 25.0 KB
(the one on the right, of course )

Name: N-9.jpg
Views: 282
Size: 16.0 KB

Hope this helps.

I guess I've answered my own question.
