Nice big load of hogs you have here

I feel I can help Re the RNZAF bird

No kiwi Corsairs had yellow surrounds on the wing roundals

NZ5339 had no tail codes, and its nose codes though placed correctly were hand painted and underlined I can scan a pic of that for you.

The yellow surround on the fuselage roundal stopped at the white of the bars
and the blue centre was smaller than your version.

Its had at one time a yellow prop dome and had full tape on the fuel tank seams
(Later it was painted over to looks like yours but with overpainting marks and had its dome changed to red)

Although correct this aircraft did one time serve with No22 Sqn its more correct to label it No31(SU)
RNZAF fighters belonged to servicing units and were 'loaned' out to squadrons, NZ5201 for example was used by 11 different RNZAF squadrons

Nice, clean profiles. The only thing I would change is to lighten up the rivets a bit.

Re: F4U Update *May contain Corsairs*

hi clave,

yes it's that nasty b'tard again, just a couple of suggestions, to be taken as constructive criticism, work on your highlights and shadows, especially the shadows, don't be afraid to go lots darker and bring it higher up the fuselage, if you are not sure how high, study the photos taken of the aircraft outdoors and see how the shadows work, this go's for all your profiles, it is a lot of hard work when first learning this but well worth it in the end.
secondly, try to stop using a line to show the outside shape of parts of the aircraft, instead use highlights and shadows, with smaller items you get better results by drawing it 4x larger then resize to fit the profile, you will be suprised how easy this is once you start doing it, you are on your way to being one of the top profilers, with the help of the guys on here it won't take you long.

just wish the buggers would help me out more now where's my calipers!

Sure. But where is the latest Seahawk update? Private Smith, you will report here every day at 1800 to show us your progress. That's an order!

BTW. I'd never thought of doing the detail in bigger size and then reducing it and now I feel very stupid for all that time spent squinting at my screen trying to get that 1/4-pixel right.
