F-104G Starfighter

I started a starfighter way back but recently decided to start from scratch as the old template wasn't up to my current standards and some local spotters even offered to pre-order (and prepay) to get me to draw this. Always the crowdpleaser (and never one to turn down cash ) ....

About 6 hours of work so far

Re: F-104G Starfighter

Nice Supah!

6 hrs work. Man I need to get quicker I tend to spend most of my time just sitting there looking at my profiles and not doing anything particularily productive.

Clint

Re: F-104G Starfighter

For me getting the basic highlights done is the easiest bits, it's all the detail that tends to drain up all the time

Re: F-104G Starfighter

Were you able to use my linework for that Supah?

Re: F-104G Starfighter

Partly, it isn't enterily accurate for a dutch G-model for reasons we discussed back then. I am having it checked over by the local 104 experten.

Re: F-104G Starfighter

Looking very good!!

p.s. just at first look, the bottom side looks a bit too flat....104 is slightly banana shaped?

Re: F-104G Starfighter

Looking at this picture

I get the feeling you might have a point, I think the change over from rounded to flat in the front is too abrupt. Will see what I can make of it.

Re: F-104G Starfighter

I might be wrong, and I'm clearly no 104 experten but it seems to me that you only have to change the upper part of the fuselage (not the spine) and make it wavy. Looks like they had some area ruling going on there. I also have the impression your nose cone should be pointing down some more, but I might be wrong again.

I'll stop with the uncertain bits of advice, now.
