Bombardier XR60 Learjet

Apologies to all you guys who are warplane oriented, you don't really need another shooting/bombing machine from the likings of me. So - a bit different. Because I'm trying to learn Modo the hard way i.e. self-taught, I thought I'd use the profile to make a 3D model. The WIP shows how far I've got. Don't hold your breath folks, these things require inputs I've never even heard about yet. If I ever get it finished and flying I'll put it up here. (I suppose Ugo would keep it on the ground with the door wide olpen and being boarded by a beautiful blonde and her chauffeur!)

Re: Bombardier XR60 Learjet

Can't you paint it olive drab and dsg upper with a light grey underside, then stick some pylons under the wings to keep us happy?

Looks like a good start though and are you model the hostess?

Re: Bombardier XR60 Learjet

Not at all unrealistic, some of these machines are used for target towing and jamming missions by defence contractors who train with NATO's navies and airforces.

Re: Bombardier XR60 Learjet

I promised you all I'd let you see what my first attempt at making a model from a profile looked like in flight. This is still WIP, there's a lot to do all over it, but you can get the idea from this. (Got to have some motivation for learning Modo Lol). Later I will get on to something a bit more elaborate, probably covered in roundels or crosses.

Re: Bombardier XR60 Learjet

Looks good! Are the engines really that huge compared to the fuselage?

Re: Bombardier XR60 Learjet

You are quite right Supah, checked them against the scale drawing and I'll need to shrink them a bit. I find that one can get too close to the action with these things and it's good to get another opinion before one gets too far. Can recommend Modo though, once the tools have been learnt it gets pleasurable to see one's work come to life, so to say. Having seen a few of the super aircraft models that can be produced tends to lend encouragement. Never too old to learn. (One day I might surprise you with my age) Lol.......!
