B24 nose profile

hi guys,

found this whilst adding to my millions of images, just note how the fuselage from the windscreen to the turret curve, just remember this if you do a profile of it, best photo i ever found

Very interesting image, and its something I have never noticed before, even though I have spent a considerable amount of time studying the 24. I guess that I will need to do some revision when I get around to working on this profile sometime in the next decade.

After looking at a bunch of pictures I have, it looks like the profile starts out flat from in front of the windscreen and then curves down starting at roughly midway between the windscreen and the opening for the turret. I'm going to dig a little further and see if it's this way on different versions of the B-24 (so far, it looks like it's that way from the LB-30 to at least the early Js.)

GFR, that looks great, even without a curved top.

hi guys,

just another image i found today whilst sorting out my files, sorry no drawings at all at the moment, the beast as returned, they say you can't get lower than a snakes belly, their wrong, i'm even lower.

anyway enough about me, GFR, take a look at the line of the fuselage from the top turret to the front edge of the canopy, it should curve, i always think it reminds me of an old man bowing his head slightly(put eyes where canopy is) or the canopy is trying to hide behind the nose, the first image show this effect perfectly.
