Synopsis
This is the last of the 20 volumes in the Jagdwaffe series which represents one of the most comprehensive pictorial accounts of the air war in Europe between 1939 and 1945 from the standpoint of the Luftwaffe, its aircraft and its aircrew. Each volume incorporates more than 200 rare images, many previously unpublished, alongside specially commissioned colour artwork, detailed narrative and personal reminiscences. As such, the books provide a unique insight into the men and equipment of the Luftwaffe during this period. The final volume in the series covers the final phase of World War 2 in Europe, with the German forces on the retreat in Italy and on both the Western and Eastern fronts. YES YES YES!!! I started buying them just after Volume 1 was completed and have been buying them (and spending too much money on them) ever since :P I have them all now and I'm working on getting the other books they are releasing now, transports, maritime aircraft etc. Smith and Creek have been at the front of Luftwaffe camouflage and research for as far back as I can remember.
All the books are very good although some profiles are not as accurate as other when compared to the photos used for reference.
All of Volume 5 will be of interest to late war Luftwaffe fans. Grab them all if you can afford it
