newly made pilot skin nearly blew up my machine

took a shot of my face with a friend's dig camera and thru photoshop, inserted it right where the old pilot's face was..... merged the layers into 8-bit, and thought everything was hunky-dory [too simple, eh?]...when i put it into the game [pacific fighters] all hell broke loose.... ... had massive graphics distortion - millions of different colors across the screen....forced me to contrl-alt-del ... what are the rules for "face-skinning"?....is there a resolution i need to bring the photo to, and/or is there margins i have to keep the head within, ....etc???
thanks!

Could be heat and or power problem. I'm sure it wasn't the pilot hehe

One know pitfall with pilot skins (causes invisible pilots) is you must not use spaces in the filename.

Hmm, I dont know what caused the problems, but are you sure you change the pilot face in this directory: \PaintSchemes\Pilots ?

The file size (.bmp extension) is 66kb. The same as the other pilot skins.

Like this attachment (in .jpg format):
