issue with tempest photoshop template

Hi, this is my first post here.
I have downloaded the Tempest template cammo series I and II made by Alex Voicu. Trying to work with these is no poblem but when it comes to
convert to a .bmp-file it doesn't work. I am using photoshop 7 with the
bright plugin available here. I have never experienced this issue so far, other templates no problem. Take a look at the attached .jpg - this is what I get.
Thank you for your help and best wishes.

Re: issue with tempest photoshop template

Welcome to SPS!

Definitely some corrupt output from Bright there. First thing that comes to my mind is this... what type of file are you running through Bright? The original PSD? As far as I recall, you must first export a 24 bit .BMP file, then run this through Bright.

Try this (if you're not already doing that) and let me know what the result is.

Re: issue with tempest photoshop template

He is using the Plug-in. That saves from Photoshop itself.
I did some tests and could not get it to work.
Best alternative: Save from PS as 24 bit BMP file (just save as BMP)
Then use the Bright program to convert it to 8 bit. That gives the same result as the plug-in.

Re: issue with tempest photoshop template

Ah the Photoshop plugin.

I wonder, if other template work OK, what is different with the tempest template? Perhaps it contains some alpha channels or something else which the Bright plugin doens't support.

Re: issue with tempest photoshop template

I would have to check on the alpha channel. I did not do that. And I remember that there was a template from the author. So, if this template is based on it, it might contain alpha channels.

Re: issue with tempest photoshop template

I just checked one of these templates, and found 8 saved selection layers. I will have to experiment later, but I thought that such layers could cause these issues with Bright.

Not a big problem of course, just export a BMP first, and then export using Bright.

Re: issue with tempest photoshop template

Hi
I had the same problem with the bright plug-in while working on a Ju-87 template

I was exporting a series of skin and one of them turned out in a similar way
I think it happened because I did something else (like click on another window) while the bright plug-in was working (not smart from me...)

It only happened once and I re-exported the same skin after that and it went on fine...

Hope this can help

Re: issue with tempest photoshop template

Problem is that it seems to be with the template itself. I can reproduce the problem with the template as it is offered at the site.
