While many Australians flew Hurricanes during World War 2 in many theatres of war only one example ever came to Australia. It was a Hurricane Mk.1 serialled V-7476. The aircraft served with No.2 and 3 Communications Flights RAAF and was used on occassion for experimental work at RAAF Base Laverton on the outskirts of Melbourne. The aircraft was scrapped in 1945.
