One other question, the maps look the same. Your F6F was based on the IL-2 model, or the model used in IL-2? Did you use anything from the original void or template?
Not that it excuses anyone copying your work mind you, just a question that comes to mind. I was just wondering if the stars/bars were the same size and placement on the IL-2 skin in the beginning.
If they have compensated the skinners for their work, I don't know. It's not my business, so I don't ask
It is now :P
Your skins are DEFINITELY good enough to pay for!!! (if a for profit company wants to use them that is)
I'd be interested in what kind of answer you get from them too as a follow-up...unless it's a private settlement.
I do all sorts of stuff for free, even for clients some times, but I hate knowing someone is making money from my work without sharing it with me
I think you should contact RRG guys (Luthier, SaqSon, Starshoy). I had an agreement about skins with Luthier and everything had been respected...
There must be some kind of an incredible misunderstanding... and maybe without you...
Hope that will be solved.

The markings defenitly look the same on both skins. For the reasons allready mentioned above (weathering/rivets on them etc) But your skin defenitly looks better.
But you probably didn't have a deadline to meet. I know of a guy (third party) who did a bunch of skins for the 1946 project but I doubt he has done any F6F's. It can't hurt if you 'spice' up your email to RRG a bit. Otherwise, it can go to the trashcan without anyone at RRG caring to act or even to reply. If only one marking was the same, it could've been called 'luck'. But this is clearly not the case here.
A quick run through the readmePF.rtf learned that there where two F6F skins made for Il-2 V4.06 (Sturmoviks over Manchuria) with a total of 327 skins. The only credit for the new skins they give is for Ilya Sevchenko himself. But somewhere in the corner of my mind, I think that at least the Il-10 skins are made by another person. I saw this on the LLTM 2006, when Il-2 1946 was not out yet.
So probably, other authors are not mentioned? Or I am wrong.
It is a bit weird.

If I look at the read-me, then I see most credits are related to Pacific fighters. And as far as I can judge only credits for "default" skins are given, and Ilya is mentioned for additional skins indded. But I suppose those are additional skins that came with the PF release.
I don't think that there are credits for "volunteer" work like most skins are I suppose (why would Oleg pay for customn skins).
If you read closely you see all PF speechpacks from the initial PF release credited, but the Dutch speechpack which we made as volunteers and was released in an additional patch, is not.
