CS3 or ATI error

I´ve just started to skin for il2 sturmovik. My problem is this,

in CS3 it looks like this,

Name: colour 2.jpg
Views: 96
Size: 18.1 KB

but in the game like this,

Name: colour .jpg
Views: 96
Size: 18.4 KB

Is this CS3 settings or graphic card (ATI)

Re: CS3 or ATI error

That looks like it could be a map error. Stick another texture on the same spot, what does it do?

I am not sure what you mean by map error and another texture, i am a total newbie
to skinning. The pictures are from the upper wing of He-51

Re: CS3 or ATI error

I'm no 3D guy, but what I meant was distortion in the 3D mapping, not something you or Photoshop did. But that's just my guess. I don't have IL-2 so I've got no way to look at that. Have you looked at the stock texture in that spot looks like?

But maybe I have this wrong, do you mean the distortion of your texture, or the color effect?

Re: CS3 or ATI error

Is it the subtle changes in color you are noticing? For me, that's what shows most in those images.

Re: CS3 or ATI error

AHA! I thought that the curvature was what the problem.
That looks like a bit depth conversion type problem...whatever that means
One of the IL-2 experts will need to work this one out.

Re: CS3 or ATI error

Now i know what it is, in conf.ini i changed the TexCompress=0 to TexCompress=2. Due to can channel map ctd, and this lower the texture in the game
Thanks for the replies.
