RAF ETO fighter camo, mid to late war

I'm thinking of painting a P-38J in a "What if?" RAF scheme, and I need help picking the correct colors for a mid to late WW2 RAF fighter camo scheme (European theater).

I've figured out I need Medium Sea Grey undersurfaces, but I don't know about the actual (gray+blue) camo pattern. Ocean Grey seems to be the grey, but I can't figure out what the appropriate blue is. Based on photos and other skins, Deep Sky Blue, Blue Grey, and Royal Blue from the UK colorchart all look like possibilities, but none of them are clearly noted as being the other half of the camo scheme. Deep Sky Blue seems the most likely based on the "High-altitude fighters and bombers" note, but it looks a hair bright to me.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hmm...OK, my mistake. Seems I'm actually going to end up with a gray/green camo...but I don't know what green to use. Don't know what I was thinking with the blue - I think I've seen Griffin spits painted like that, but who knows. So...the real question is: What green do I need?

I think the Dark Green and Ocean Grey are too much "off" in the link above, so here my reference:

http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/colours/UK.html

Top: Dark Green (# 241)
Ocean Grey (no number given)
Bottom: Medium Sea Grey (# 637)

It all depends on the lighting in the sim in question.

In CFS3 I never use the 'correct' colors. If I do that they dont come out right inside the sim.

I always change them a bit, normally I lighten them quite a lot for CFS3 use.

Re: RAF ETO fighter camo, mid to late war

Basic RAF camo schemes -

Early war - Dark Green/Dark Earth uppers, Sky lowers. (Battle of France Sky/Black lowers)

Intermediate - Dark Green/Dark Earth uppers, Medium Sea Grey lowers. (Usual SEAC colors)

Mid/late war - Dark Green/Ocean Grey uppers, Medium Sea Grey lowers.

Desert - Dark Earth/Middle Stone uppers, Azure Blue lowers.

Only a rough guide, individual aircraft varied on occassions eg the debate over the Malta blue spits, or the single sqn of pink Spit FR IX.s used on D-Day.

Good examlpe is the RAF P-51D I am doing. Was delivered from the USA in Olive Drab/Neutral Grey uppers, Light Grey lowers.
