This comet has had a wonderful outburst in brightness, I finally got to observe it last night. Going from my printed star charts, I was able to visually locate the comet with the naked eye.
Observation with 7X and 8X scopes and binoculars gave a nice impression of the size, shape, and brightness. Quite impressive. Bringing out my 4.5 inch telescope pulled in absolutely stunning images at 32X, incredibly bright and detailed, with a very clearly defined margin on one side, feathering out on the opposite. Stepping up to 72X, the visible outline covered nearly 100% of my eyepiece, still retaining a fine view. At this higher magnification, I felt I had a better grasp of the central brightness. This is probably the largest and brightest object I have observed thus far, aside from the moon.
