If you use Tomboy notes in Gnome, you may have found that sometimes when you log into your user account, the Tomboy search window is open on your desktop.

I found the solution to this problem, at least in my own case.

My usual practice had been to add the Tomboy icon to the panel manually. After doing this I noticed no problems until I enabled Tomboy note searching within Deskbar search, and immediately I started getting the Tomboy search window on each login.

I completed an upgrade to my main PC last week, and subsequently reinstalled my WinXP/Ubuntu dual boot. All went painlessly I am happy to report.

A specific issue during my configuration of Ubuntu, I had trouble enabling the 'Big Desktop' mode in the ATI CCC driver control panel.
