Say, what drawings did you use? The ones from the AJ Press book seem to be VERY nice and the compare well with other 109E drawings I've got.

I actually used several drawings as well as a whole whack of walk around photos. The one I relied on most came out of the book "Bf 109 Part 1: Prototype to 'E' Variants" written by Lynn Ritger and produced by Modelers Datafile as it seemed to be quite accurate. I don't think I've seen the one you are referring to, but that's no surprise considering how many books are out there. So many books.....such a limited budget. You know how it is with us retired types.

You'll all note that in the initial drawing there is no headrest, no tailwheel and no gun sight. The headrest I'm not worried about as that is so simple it's a matter of a few minutes and it's done. The gun sight and the tail wheel are quite another matter. These are very complex shapes and I don't feel comfortable drawing something I don't understand. The tailwheel is probably one of the most overlooked things, and even in walkarounds of existing aircraft it is often overlooked or obscured. Until I find good information on this I'm reluctant to draw it in.

The Revi C/12D I finally managed to obtain good photos of. My drawings are below. Anyone who wants copies of the original photos or full size drawings is welcome to them if you email me. Oh...in the left view the locating pin sight is shown in the raised position, but in the down position on the right hand view. If anyone thinks there is a need to label the various parts, I'll be happy to share that info here as well.

I'm sorry I can only give you a draftmans view. If I understood the colouring process better you would be able to see the curves and shapes.
